I am not sure Indiana fits into the religious nutballs. The midwest fits more into boring and mundane.

At least, Indiana is boring and mundane. In small-town Missouri where I did my undergrad degree, then yeah, there are some religious nutballs. I remember there was one bible-thumper who stood on the quad and told all the students that passed him that we were all going to hell.
It was even funnier when the really religious people (and the atheists) started arguing with him.

The fact that I live near the coast in California, makes it so we have rain and mild weather(although, it sometimes can get pretty hot in the summer).
^_^ Go California!

It also means you're the most likely to fall into the ocean when California breaks off.

Put it all together and voila... you have the equation for higher property value.
Math class dismissed. Now let's all go to Malibu for lunch.

As long as we're on the topic of "World according to __________" pictures, I thought I'd throw in my favorite.
I still hold to my statement that I would hate to live in California.

I work in a business where celebs are called 'talent' and that's considered a demeaning term. AND... I had some of the toughest shrimp I've ever eaten at the Ivy one night... sooooo overcooked, so not eager to go back. But, if you're ever in the Valley, drop me a line and you can come have lunch at the worst commissary in town. Ooops... I may have just given too big a clue as to my work place.

The second image reminds of a story I heard from a friend of mine. The town we live in is a couple of miles outside Brighton (everyone knows of Brighton ^.~) along the coast. Now this guy, let's call him 'Bob' for the sake of my fingers, was working on a job with a bunch of Americans. Now, not knowing the reality of this part of the world's geography, they told Bob that they were going to take a day trip to France.
American: We can take the car over to France, right?
Bob: Sure, it's a four hour (ish) drive to Dover and then on the Ferry for a bit.
American: We can't drive over?
Bob: No, there's a sea in the way.
American: Really?
Of course, this isn't limited to Americans (obviously). I remember my tutor and tutor group spent about ten minutes trying to expalin to a girl that even though our town is in the same country as Liverpool, it will take longer to drive to Liverpool than it could to get into France (South East coast of England, to the North West versus a straight line through Dover to Callais).
